Ernst Haeckel

Additionally, those installations in the light show, also reminded me of natural forms, like a living organism, whereas something like Ernst Haeckel’s drawing of natural forms.
Haeckel also wrote more than twenty monographs about systematic biology and evolutionary history, and his studies of radiolarians, medusae, and sponges.

He made great contributions in the field of biology and in the art design, and architecture of the early 20thcentury.

Andy Goldsworthy

artist Naum Gabo

From the installation, I saw in the light show located at Hong Kong Victoria Harbor, reminded me of Naum Gabo’s Kinetic sculpture.

Gabo’s sculpture created a sense of spatial movement by using materials such as glass, plastic, and metal. Some of his materials are from scrap which also reminded me of our project, which aimed at creating “low cost” artwork.

Andy Goldsworthy

Thinking for the meaning of “Light touch”, I defined as something that blends in with the garden, or else something that won’t destroy the existing plants.

I looked at Andy Goldsworthy’s land art, he builds installation into the natural and makes use of the materials found within that site, he also experimented with time. He is working as a sculptor and photographer.

He documented through  photography and he doesn’t think his work is about art, “It’s just about life and the need to understand that a lot of things in life do not last.”

willow art

I looked at willow weaving as it a craft that has been undertaken for thousands of years, traditionally for baskets and other household items. As shown in the photograph beside created by the “Wild Lives at Rutland Water Nature Reserve, Rutland Willows” this bird-like shape was made of willow, in my point of view it blends in with the environment perfectly, for my experimentation I would consider the use of willow.

A shelter and garden, prompt me of the mushroom house found in the Smurf movie and game.
