This task is to design primarily for people, considering what activities people do, and what they need from a space I design.

How building and space accommodated, specific activities, different needs of different people, at the same time in a sequence.

For instance, “Big Top” London circus tent. The arrangement of seats, the performance space, ‘backstage’ areas, enable the audience to entre, ait and watch, then leave, separately from performers. Heights of barriers, the angle of raked seating and different views allow the circus to charge more for some seats.

concert

During this Christmas Holiday in Hong Kong, I had been to a concert located at the HONG KONG COLISEUM, the seating of this concert are defined by Gate, Section, Row and Seat, and colours.

I have been observing the people from queuing up outside until they get in to be seated and the end when they leave the concert.

The viewing and personal space are my concern as a visitor, moreover the song, I feel like the duration to get into the concert is quick and they have a good number of the entrance door, however it hard to leave this area to the station or to get any other transport.

light show

The Hong Kong light show is to be one of the biggest outdoor light art display in Hong Kong, which include 14 creative light art installation, the theme of this light show is technology, communication, childhood, dreams, connections and romance.

Some of the installations are interactive, such as sound effects when you touch certain detector.

This light show increased the numbers of people visiting greenspaces, in point points of view the installation works well along with this urban green space and attracted a lot of new visitors and it suitable for all ages from my observations of the people. The Light Piano, illuminated light tunnel, illuminated Rotifers, illuminated urban scape, flowering phantasm are all my favourite installation and they inspired me for this project.
